    Cypresswood Sharks- Conduct At Practice

    All,

Please be conscious of your comments at practice.  Per the team code of conduct, it is imperative that we follow each guideline to maintain a respectful practice session.  As stated in the code of conduct, there will be no verbally abusive language, insults....and other derogatory communication directed at other swimmers, parents, volunteers....

We have been very lax in allowing parents to watch practice from the bleachers and for the most part it has gone without incident.  We will go back to our standard format of "no parents on deck" during practice starting tomorrow.  Parents can watch from behind the fence or in the pavilion.

Lastly, if any parent and/or swimmer does not agree with the coaches practice session or the the format in which practice is conducted, please reach out to the coach in an email or after/before the practice sessions begin.  We do not want to slow practice age group transitions so coming prior to the first practice or talking to the coach after the last practice is preferable.  Each of you can also set up a meeting with the coach upon request via email.  If you are not satisfied with your answer you can elevate your concerns to me.  My number and email are available.

The coaches have been working with each age group differently.  They are working with the each age group based on levels of capability.  The older age groups will have minimal in pool interaction with the swimmers.  However, as needed the coaches have been instructed to get in the pool if necessary to teach proper stroke technique.  It is not necessary for them to get in the pool 100% of the time with every age group when teaching technique.  It is up to the Head Coach to determine what is needed based upon her observation, input from the assistants and feedback from the swimmers/parents as the season progresses.

Thanks in advance for each parent's awareness for the need to have a positive environment for our swimmers, coaches, and visitors.  If any of you have questions, please don't hesitate to call me.

    Regards,
    George Ebelt- Board President
