    Volunteering at Divisionals

Good afternoon Sharks - George Ebelt, our team and division rep, sent out an email earlier with the some valuable information about divisionals tomorrow.   As of 3:35 pm this afternoon we still have quite a few volunteer slots open that must be filled before the meet starts tomorrow.   Below is a list of volunteer slots that are still open:

    Timer 2nd shift - need 2

    Scribe 3rd shift - need 1

    Timers 3rd shift - need 4

    Ready Bench 2nd Shift - need 1

    Ready Bench 3rd Shift - need 3

    Set up - need 4

    Clean up - need 3

Parent Coordinator 7/8 girls - need 1 ( there will be parents of 11 girls present, one of these parents is already volunteering at the ready bench, so someone please volunteer)

Parent Coordinator 7/8 boys - need 1 ( there will be parents of 7 boys present so someone please volunteer)

Parent Coordinator 11/12 girls - need 1 (there will be parents of 9 girls  present so someone please volunteer)

Please know that if we don't have timers or scribes at every shift the meet WILL NOT PROCEED.

Ninety-seven parents have RSVP'd to be at Divisionals tomorrow but only thirty parents have signed up to volunteer.  It is not fair and unacceptable that two thirds of our parents in attendance will enjoy watching their kids swim while the other one third is hard at work, making sure the kids have a great experience, and possibly not getting to watch their own kids swim.  Also, if a parent has signed up for a first shift or even a second shift and there is no one to relieve them, then they get to possibly work even longer, again completely un-fair.

In years past we have proudly stepped up as a volunteer group and I wouldn't expect anything less now. We have a great group of parents who are willing to help, that has been proven at each of three home meets this year, and I am now asking for your help again.  Please consider filling in one of the above volunteer slots as soon as possible and I thank you in advance.

    With warmest regards,

    Rich Schluter
